Green Kids from Around the World
Over the years, Green Kids Club has been working with schools in all parts of the world. Our activities include everything from visiting classrooms to providing books and learning tools to grade level children, as well as sponsoring Environmental Clubs. Here's a glimpse of some of the Green Kids we've met from around the world.
Green Kids from San Pedro, Belize
From Teacher Kristen, The Island Academy:
"My infant 2 students had the pleasure of reading your Green Kids Club books. They worked together with a partner to learn several skills including how to write a summary, opinions, finding new words and looking up the meaning, as well as learning how to research facts about places and an animal. They truly worked hard on these projects and enjoyed learning about new places and how some animals are being harmed.
Thank you Sylvia for making sure we have copies of these books at our school. My students were excited about receiving the new books a few months ago. Several students have read most copies of the Green Kids books already. I am so happy they were able to learn about different areas and animals that are endangered or being harmed...
Enjoy seeing some of the visual displays they created!"
Over several visits to Belize, we have visited the Holy Cross Anglican School where we met with classes from Kindergarten through 2nd grade. We read to each classroom and gave out books and plush toys. The kids learned about different animal issues around the world and told us about their environmental concerns and how they were working to make a difference. We were pleased to hear how many of them worked to help pick up trash and to get their families to help as well! See their homepage at www.hcefoundation.org or www.holycrossbelize.org
Green Campus Initiative in Nigeria
Dear Sylvia,
On behalf of the Green Campus Initiative, I would like to express my profound gratitude for the books and toys donated to the Green Kids program. Without donations like yours, our library resources would be lacking. The kids love the new books. They also love the toys especially the key holders.
Words cannot express how grateful we are. Thank you again for your generosity and most importantly for believing in our program. You are blessing to this generation.
Kind Regards,
Adenike Akinsemolu
Director, The Green Institute

Green Kids from Kasane, Botswana
We met the Environment Club in Kasane, Botswana. It was really great to hear how the children have their own Club where they have a Minister of the Environment and Assistant. They meet on a weekly basis and work on projects to help promote environmental stewardship. The children discussed the various wildlife that they have in their backyards – such as the African elephants, lions, and warthogs, and how their families deal with them when they show up! Quite educational for me. Green Kids is pleased to say that we are now a sponsor of the schools in the Chobe School District (14) for the Association of Environmental Clubs. We are thrilled to be helping here!

Green Kids from India
Bruce Miller gave out Green Kids books to Children in India. The children and parents loved them. The book they received was the Jade Elephant. This book is based in India and deals with Indian elephant habitat encroachment issues in this country. The Green Kids come in and work with Anju (a Green Kid from India) to help educate the people and also help the elephants!
Green Kids of Tanzania
Green Kids books were given to an orphanage in Tanzania run by Make a Difference Now. We were very excited to have our books sent and of course read by the future Green Kids of Tanzania! We plan to continue working with this organization and hopefully also help to make a difference!
